The Book of Isaiah

The Fifth Gospel

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 (ESV)

Often considered to be a wonderful piece of literature, historically called The Fifth Gospel, the book of Isaiah the Prophet is the most quoted prophet in the New Testament.

Isaiah’s message was directed to a sixth-century audience on the verge of national crisis. As such, it only indirectly relates to people today.

Yet, between the prophecies fulfilled and still to be fulfilled as well as the amazing pictures of both God and Messiah, Isaiah is a book very relevant for today's Christian.

Isaiah is a book set in the history of the world, starting around 750 B.C. When read and interpreted in this historical context, Isaiah becomes a book meant for the church of any age.

Join us as we walk through the treasures of this work which views its past, present, and future as all being meant to direct the Southern Jewish kingdom of Judah in a time of continuing crisis. Isaiah worries over the fate of the Jewish people as he paints for ages to come a glorious picture of God's coming Savior.
